Our Story
The ensemble currently features drums, guitars, bass, violin, and vocals. Award winning for their film work, Lord Rífa takes this moment in time to explore the mystery’s of true immersive music. Not just songs that attack you out of 2 speakers and a sub. But the total envelopment of the spiritual and physical in a glorious bath of surround sound.
Lastly Lord Rífa is of its time. And the times are highly charged with politics. Personal and political and are not afraid to tread the waters in between.
Protest music has always been vital in American culture, generally living in but not limited to the (Americana) folk and hip hop genres. Guthrie, Dylan, NWA, But the corruption of the music business has eroded the political value of the genre. The corporate fascist machine does not allow protest unless it can make a buck off of it, and even then only under direct supervision.
We are taking Americana back. Back from the harmless and the pale. Back from the corporations and the money where freedom gets lost. We are invoking the spirit of protest. We are invoking Antifa, Black Lives Matter, Me Too and Code Pink taking their struggles from the streets and hearts of America and helping sing their once silent songs.
